After my mechanical engineering studies at the Technical University of Aachen (Diploma 1993, equivalent to a Master of Science) I studied law at the University of Muenster. In 1998 I passed my final exam with distinction.

During my legal clerkship I spent three month in a law office in Toronto, Canada. I finished my legal clerkship at the beginning of 2001 an have been called to the bar in April 2001.

Besides my legal clerkship I work out expert reports on light rail vehicles, regional and commuter trains, energy supply for railway coaches and regional and commuter rail services in Germany for a consulting company specialised on the railway sector.
